SR 89A Viewpoint Drive Traffic Interchange

The Arizona Department of Transportation is planning to complete the traffic interchange at State Route 89A and Viewpoint Drive with the construction of a bridge and other improvements. The completion of this interchange will help move traffic through the area efficiently. ADOT is in the final design stage and will select a contractor this summer. Construction is anticipated to begin this fall and last approximately 12 months.

Project improvements will include:

• Construction of a new bridge connecting SR 89A over Viewpoint Drive, as well as other intersection improvements.
• Addition of a westbound auxiliary lane between Viewpoint Drive and Glassford Hill Road.
• Widening SR 89A to four lanes east of Robert Road.
• Improvement of drainage throughout the project limits.
